TALES OF A HOPELESS ROMANTIC (Ep.1)

I was walking towards my mother's car after the concert ended, with my buddy. I was to drop her in the CBD so that she could catch a matatu home. She had no choice really, it was getting dark, and walking to the nearest stage wouldnt have made sense. More time wastage on waiting for a matatu to take her to the CBD then again wait for another one to take her home...wasn't economical and safe. So, my mom was chill to take her to the nearest stage.

I came with a girlfriend and cousin of mine, so we were going to comfortably sit at the back. What my buddy didn't mention is that she came with her guy friend to the concert, and we nearly left the venue. She laughed hysterically and jumped out of the car, pulled out her phone and looked like she was calling him. The rest of us just chuckled. We were exhausted from the event, I was singing in the choir and I was one of the backup singers, imagine the running around during the whole concert. Thankfully my friend and cousin were chill so they stuck together. The two are now loudly discussing about football, and I lightly joined them.

Soon, my buddy came back, kind of dragging her friend's hand. She looked agitated while she was walking with him. Maybe it was the frustration of looking for him. Anyway, I decided to sit at the front of the car with my mom, to create more space at the back. So after we all settled, we went on to the direction to drop my buddy and her friend to the CBD.

Let's focus on her friend, my buddy's friend.

On the way I was narrating to my mom about the whole event, and the guys at the back were jumping on to the convo and adding stuff and moments that we loved about the concert. All guys except him. He was so still, so quiet, that I barely notice him while I was loudly bantering with the rest. My cousin was cracking jokes and we were all laughing. But I couldn't detect his laugh. Well, it wasn't a big deal for me, coz some people can be true introverts who prefer less talk and more observing and taking in the environment.

That was my first impression of him. Still, quiet and chill. He looked kind of gangster to be honest, a rough look on his face. Kind of don't mess up with me/don't talk to me unless you wanna die look.

We reached the CBD soon enough, and when we got to my buddy's stage, the two alighted from our car into the busy, orange lit city. My friend waved at me, while he just stood with her. I'm sure there's more to his stature than what I saw and observed. I didn't think of him after the day was over, I was already beat and the very next day was camp. I hadn't packed and if I didn't pack tonight, then camp will be pointless.

Well, the future held a whole different perspective.
